How long do spiders live?

Okay, I have this small, black, fuzzy spider living in between the glass and screen of my dining room window. He's been there for TWO months!! My son has named him Lucifer and everything. I thought spiders don't live that long!! I can't bear to kill him (even though I HATE spiders) because he's survived so long. :-)

  • It really depends on the type of spider. Anywhere from a few days (usually the males) to a year. With winter coming, my guess is it will die soon.

  • Depends on the kind of spider. If it's not in the house then I wouldn't worry about it. The spider is probably keeping other bugs out, bugs that you do not want in your house.
