Does your chance of miscarriage go down once there is a heartbeat?

I know that there is a greater chance up to 12 weeks. But does it lessen after you see the baby's heartbeat?

  • Yes the chances do go down.

Like your post said it can still happen though but I think the figure is less then 10% after a HB of over 100BPM has been detected.

  • Yes - I was worried about a miscarriage and my dr told me that after we had seen the heartbeat on an ultrasound it was rare to have a miscarriage.

  • From everything I've been told and read the chances go down greatly once a heartbeat is seen, and then it goes way down again at the 12 week mark.
