my 5 month old was using his left hand more then his right and now his right hand more then his left. but now he holds his left arm to his side or behind him and slmost never uses it, is this normal?

  • I would say, sure, they are learning motor control.

  • My son is 2 and seems to still switch off right and left, but mostly uses his right. 5 months old, he's just learning to use his motor skills. If you are that concerned, I'd ask the Dr. next appt.

  • my daughter does the same thing.. i just put whatever hand she isn't using into the party and it takes right off.. lol they just get so involved in what they are doing to notice they have the other hand! btw she is 5 months also
