I want a girl!

My husband and I are going to try to get pregnant in a few months. I have been reading up on natural ways to increase your chances of having a girl, like eating certain foods, have sex a few days before you ovulate, certain positions...and such. Have any of you ever had succes with these things?

  • No that stuff never works, they are all myths. Food, positions don't dteermine the sex. The sperm does.

  • No. But I do have 2 girls. Not trying. The sex of your kids all lays with your DH/SO.

  • You don't get to pick which gender of child you WANT.

  • Talk to your husband's scrotum.....that is the ONLY thing that determines what the sex of your child is.
If you want a girl so bad, look into adoption - the only sure way to get a girl. Otherwise, hope for a good pregnancy and a healthy baby.

i agree, nothing will work. the sex of the baby is determined by the sperm and the sperm only. we have 3 girls, id liked to have had one boy but it wasnt in the cards for us!

  • Nothing but sperm determines the gender. Everything else is just a story.

  • Well there is some truth to having sex before you ovulate. Female sperm live longer than male sperm. Male sperm swim faster. if you have sex before you ovulate in theory most of the male sperm will have died off. Then there is always the scientific sperm spinning that separates male and female and which also costs a small fortune. But in reality it's whatever gets to the egg first. You really don't have control over it. Most people are happy as long as the baby is healthy.

  • Actually the Dr. Shuttle's method has been proven to be 80% effective in getting the sex you want. The man releases both male and female sperm. Female sperm is stronger but swims slower.

If you have intercourse 2 days prior to ovulation and then do not have intercourse again until after ovulation you are more likely to concieve a girl where as if you have intercourse the day the egg releases you are most likely to concieve a boy.

You HAVE to chart and know how many fertile days you have in order for it to work.

    I've used it sucessfully twice.
