Have you ever done these things on a job interview?

I heard on the news yesterday that there are five things that the younger folk are doing to mess up job interviews these days:

1) Wearing flip flops.

2) Addressing the potential employer as "dude".

3) Starting off the interview by asking what the job pays.

4) Wearing facial body jewelry

5) Not properly filling out the application and/or mistakes in applications and/or Resumes.

They were discussing why the younger generation has not been taught how to ace an interview, so to speak.  So, what are you thoughts?

  • Nope, I was lucky... my high school actually does a program in senior english where we have to write resumes, make portfolios, get recommendation letters, & are interviewed by local business owners. It's a huge part of our last semester grade, & it was so helpful!

  • I would never do those things. I would want a job too much to let my jackassery get in the way of it.

If you ever get a chance - rent The Big Lebowski (when there are no kids in the room).

  • To me these are common sense things not to do, but I guess common sense isn't so common.
