  • Spades are the only suit that trumps all the other suites in the deck. So, when playing spades...no a daimond will not trump a heart. If someone leads with a daimond, you have to play a daimond. If you do not have a daimond, you can play a spade & win that hand. OR, if you don't want to play a spade, or cant, you can play any other suit in the deck but you will lose that hand. If no one lays a spade, or trumps the daimond with a higher number daimond card...then the person who led that daimon takes that hand.
