How do you make Toast Without a Toaster?

The kids broke the toaster and I haven't replaced it yet. I don't have a toaster oven. I have an awful head cold and need to eat something, toast was the only thing that sounded good and I can't figure out how to make it.

  • Yes, I put in under the broiler in the oven. It's very quick too, so don't turn your back! :)

  • I had a toaster that was somewhat not working. One side of the coils were working the other wasn't I end up flipping the side of the bread in order to have them toasted on both sides. Check inside the heating coils if that's the problem.

You may want to use a skillet to toast the bread.

  • We used to not have a toaster and we would stick bread in the oven for a few minutes.
