Ultrasound question.....

When they give you an ultrasound and say that you say 6 weeks pregnant, does that mean you got pregnant 6 weeks ago or you got pregnant 4 weeks ago and they add the weeks in for your period. This stuff really confuses me!

  • 4 weeks because they take two weeks worth of follicular phase into account when dating a pregnancy.

  • Since they count from the first day of your last period your gestational age, how long you're considered to be pregnant, would be 6 weeks, the fetal age, how old the baby is, would be about 4 weeks. It can be confusing.
