  • If you are browning it, you can thaw while browning; it won't change the texture or taste much.

Otherwise, put it into a sink full of COLD, not hot, water. Hot or warm water will cause the meat to begin cooking (even at low temperatures) and that will result in tough, rubbery meat. You may want to change the water every 30 minutes or so, which allows the meat to continue defrosting evenly.

Do NOT defrost it in the microwave if you can avoid it. That will completely destroy the taste of the meat.

  • if your microwave has a defrost function, put the beef on a plate and use the defrost option.

  • Put it in a bowl or sink of warm water and keep adding more warm every 15-30 minutes. If you are browning it in crumbles you can just put the frozen in a skillet on low heat and constantly scrape and flip it.

  • 1st of all NEVER EVER thaw it on the counter 2nd never ever run warm water over it you can put it in cold water and change it out every 30 minutes. I wouldn't recommend thawing it in the microwave either. If you are browning it for something just cook it. I would suggest menu planning better for healthier cooking and thawing it out in the frig is always best. Check out this site
