Is having genuine leather sofa (set) important to you or is it just me?

My dh WANTS genuine leather.
We have pleather sofas right now but they look real to

Why? Do u think that is important to him cause I sure don't know. Thanks!

  • There is nothing like the smell of a real leather sofa, you are right they look the same but even the feel is different.

  • I have genuine and its a lot more to maintain. I like pleather but if you can afford the real thing then go for it! Just make sure you condition a lot!

  • I hadn't really thought about it. We have a leather set. I love it, is as soft as butter.

  • Leather is the best and I don't agree with a PP that it is hard to maintain; it is not. Pleather is not an adequate substitute for the real thing.

  • Leather sofas are nice. I have a "pleather" one downstairs and I am about to bring my father's sectional leather couch home. Hopefully my kids don't write on it or mess it up since it cost over $3,000.
