What do you do when your toddler clearly has to "go" but doesn't want to go sit on the potty?

If I force my son he will have a full blown tantrum! That will set potty training back a lot.

  • My son was 3 when I potty trained him for peeing, I gave him big boy underwere to put on and he stayed dry during the day, at night I would put pullups on. Now for him to go poop on the tiolet that took a little longer, I rewarded him with praise and a toy from the store but I couldn't afford to keep getting him a new toy everytime he went number 2 on the toilet so I thought one day, how about a book to read and that did it :) he's been awesome about going number two. every now and again he would act like he would want to use a diaper and I was like "I know you can go on the toilet, your a big boy" and he would go get on the toilet. Good luck to you :)
