  • Red :)

Depending on whether there are recessive genes for other colors in either you or your husband's DNA, there is most likely a 50/50 shot of blond vs brown hair.

  • Probably brown. Then again I have brown hair my husband has a very dark blonde but both my kids have a golden blonde color.

  • I'm a redhead from blonde and brunette parents. It's not common tho.

There's a chance your child will be be blonde and darken when he/she gets older.

  • Who knows...DH and I (and almost all of our family members) have dark brown hair. Somehow our 6yo DD has blonde hair.

  • Well, it depends. See, the way genetics works, you both pass down a gene. If your husband has blond hair, which I think I remember is recessive, that would mean he could only pass a blond gene. Depending on whether you have a blond gene (would have to know your parents' genetics to know, and possibly their parents, to see if they could have passed you a blond gene), your child has a 50% chance of being blond. If you don't have a blond gene, there's no chance, as the brown dominant gene would over-ride the recessive gene. That is, if I'm remembering high school biology. I know that's the way it works for eye color, anyway. :)
