  • Eczema almost always gets worse before it gets better. Suffered from it my whole life and dd too. Here's what I suggest: Do not take hot showers. Do not rub your skin with towels, only pat. Do not use soaps with fragrance in them. Use something like Aveeno or Eucerin body wash. After towel drying immediately apply lotion, again with no fragrance and preferably oat formula or Eucerin. Then apply powder with no fragrance(GoldBond is awesome). The powder seals in the moisture and creates a barrier between your skin and everything else. Think of it like diaper rash cream. Lastly, sleep with a humidifier running in your bedroom at night (this hydrates the skin)and don't have the house cranked up on high heat. All of these things help keep my sjin from flaring up.
