Is it considered EBF when they start solids?

  • From my understanding, nope. Its Exclusive if its ONLY BF lol. I dunno. Once they start solids, its no longer exclusive. -Shrugs-

  • I thought EBF meant that the baby never had formula.............nothing to do with when the baby has solids. IDK...........

  • No, as the E in EBF (before age 1) stands for exclusive. Once they begin eating or drinking something in addition, they are no longer Exclusively Breast Fed. After age 1, many people use EBF to mean Extended Breast Feeding.

  • Once you start solids there is something else in their diet and it's no longer exclusive (there are benefits to exclusive breastfeeding that stop when you start solids). After that they are just a breastfed baby! :)
