Does it hurt the baby?

I am 5 weeks along. I have been terribly sick (severe cold like symptoms). Does it hurt the baby during his/her development? Sorry if this is a silly question.

  • Nope. Your body will take care of the baby first. However, if I were you and it really bothered me, I would go to the doctor, and see what they could give me that was baby safe to relieve some of the symptoms.

  • The actual cold wont hurt the baby however the OTC cold medication might so be careful about what you are taking. Also make sure you stay hydrated.

  • Nope, In fact you can look forward to getting every single cold that goes around because all of your body's energy normally devoted to immunity is spent on protecting the baby.

The baby will be fine. Just keep yourself fed and hydrated.
