Photo Editing?

What is your favorite downloadable free photo editing software? I have been using Picasa but I would like something a bit more complex if it is out there.

  • btw, useful related links...
    • GIMP

    • Inkscape

    • List of other picks (I haven't actually used most of these myself, but gives you more options to look into)

    • Lifehacker - This is a GREAT site for finding recommendations to all kinds of software and misc. tech stuff.

  • GIMP! It's both free as in beer and free as in speech.

  • I know you are looking for freebies, but I love Paint Shop Pro. A new version has just come out, so I got the previous version (Corel Paint Shop Pro X2) for $18, and that included tax and shipping. When it was the newest program, it was a $99 program, so I was all on top of this deal. My mom runs one of the PSP programs, and I enjoyed tinkering around with it, and that's what got me turned on to the program. If you want the link to the place from which I ordered it, let me know and I'll get it to you.

  • Another favorite that's not necessarily the best for photos, but is more for vector graphics is Inkscape! I used it recently to make DD's birthday party invitations. LOVE it.
