he only wants to sleep.....help

i dont know what to do all my 4 month old son wants to do today is sleep!! he basically slept from 830 am to 5pm (itis 625pm right now) he slept good last night...he basically only wakes up to eat! i am trying to keep him awake by playing with him, letting him watch his dvd and right now he is on my lap watching the computer. but as i try to play with him he just screams and cries!! i didn't do anything new to him or me so i don't know whats up with him!! i go to the doc friday for his 4 month check up..... any advice comments or suggestions??

    Seriously, though, you'll miss these days when he's teething or fussy and keeps you up all night!

  • Honestly, he might just be feeling extra sleepy! My guy did this right after his last growth spurt: he was awake and eating ALL the time...and then a few days later was just the opposite. If you're really worried, call your doc and see if you can come in a day earlier, otherwise just discuss it with him on Friday.

  • He doesn't have a fever or any illness symptoms, does he? It's probably just what I said above. :)

  • I forgot to add: sometimes, when they go through growth spurts, this is what they do. Sleep. And sleep and sleep!

    Do bring it up to your doctor, but I wouldn't wake him up. Def. keep an eye on him and if everything looks good: you're good!

  • Take a nap. He is having a sleepy day and will be up all night most likely. :) Keep an eye on him though, he may be coming down with something.
