What is the phrase mean " In a New York minute"?

Why not say in. a Texas minute or another state? IDK?

  • Because if you've ever been downtown New York City, it's very busy..and everyone is in a big rush to get everywhere. It's mass chaos!! So, in a New York Minute...is like saying in a "quick minute".

  • New York City is a busy busy place.People always on the move..Things always going on. Nothing ever slows down.

    In a New York minute means it happened/happens fast.

    It's in reference to the city of New York, not the state of New York.
