How can I get my clothes whiter and brighter again without using strong chemicals such as bleach. I have a 15 month year old and want to use a safer way to brighten our clothes again...

  • I used borax when my son was a baby. Its great on stains, brightens whites and can be used around the house.

  • I pour in some peroxide. I have a nice frontload washer that already has all the dispenser things. I just fill the liquid bleach dispenser with peroxide. I never ever use bleach in my house. And oxiclean is chlorinated, by the way, so that isn't the best option. Borax will also do the job. I just prefer the results of the peroxide myself.
