have you heard of this before?

When my dishwasher broke, I called a repairman. After he fixed it, he asked if I rinse my dishes before putting them in the dishwasher. I told him that yes, I always rinse them....and he said that a dishwasher will break if the dishes don't have food on them.

Has anyone heard of this "dishwasher rule" before?

  • No, but rinsing the dishes isn't really a good idea. Having said that, I myself rinse the dishes half the time before they go in.

  • That's the stupidest thing I have ever heard of. Dishes breaking a dishwasher if they are washed off? I'm sorry, but I think I'm missing something here. LOL! What's the point of having a dishwasher if rinsed off dishes will break it? I don't know who told him that, but I think he must have fell off the rocker somewhere!
