Do you limit naptime?

Does anyone limit the amount of sleep their child gets during daytime? and if so, how do you keep them awake if they are sleepy? I always feel bad waking my son up but don't want him to be up all night either.

  • If my son takes a nap I dont let him sleep past 3pm, otherwise he will stay up ALL night. I have to be the bad guy and wake him up and keep waking him up.

  • I don't limit my son's nap, but if he takes an especially long one I will push his bedtime back by 1/2 hour (but no more because I don't want to mess up his routine) - but he isn't one to get out of his bed either so we don't have issues at night.

  • i didn't limit it i just made sure that he took one at a certain time 2 pm was the latest... but now he doesn't want to take naps which is really good cause he goes to sleep by 8 and out for the night.

  • No. I did have to wake him up while he was still napping yesterday so we could go pick up my older son from school. He will usually sleep for 3 hours at nap time. I let him sleep.

  • I started trying to limit when (not after 4p) and how long (<2.5 hours) in an attempt to make bedtime more successful. So far, it has been difficult.
