How do taxes work?

If a husband and wife file married but seperate tax returns, and let's say he's an independant contractor! And he never paid taxes! Now divorced can the feds come after her for his not having paid taxes?

  • I'm not 100% sure as to whether they can come after her for income while they were married if they filed individually. Might want to consult the IRS website.

  • I'm not sure either, but it's worth looking into as soon as possible. This is not something you want to come back and bite you in the butt.
