What are your priorities (style-wise) when searching for a new home?

What kind of flooring, countertops, cabintery, customizations, bathroom amenities, floorplans, etc?

  • personally I want an open floorplan- so I can see everyone from the kitchen which needs to have enought cabinets, and dark countertops. Not too small either- need room for everyone to be in there ;)

if there are stairs I do not want them walled in-to me that is SO UGLY

I like carpet- but not light colored hubby loves wood floors- I hate them!
I like 9 ft cielings too and those plant shelves/nook things are cool

lots of storage space and decent sized bathrooms

  • Open floor plans, formal living and dining rooms, eat in kitchen, sun room, 3+ bathrooms, 4+ bedrooms, bonus room/office, large lot, 2+ car side-entry garage, granite countertops, hardwood floors throughout, fireplace, mudroom and walk-in laundry room, full basement.

As long as the layout is the way I want it, I can decorate it to my liking...I'm not afraid of grunt work, in fact that's the part I love!

  • i want open floor plan, and the kitchen has to be great and so do the bathrooms, have to have a pool!

  • We are currently building our next house because we had alot and weren't finding THE house:

Large kitchen - dark wood cabinets, stainless steel, granite
    5 bdrms
    At least 3 full bathrooms
Wood floors on upper floor and in master bathroom
    Large closets
    Tile floors downstairs
    Fenced yard
    3 car Garage
Spacious - 3500 sq ft or more.

Some of those we aren't getting with building because they were over budget. The pool and fence are going to have to wait....the pool longer than the fence.
