  • stop them why?

I mean is it causing them to have bad grades or something?

  • You cant unless you want to throw away the game system. You can only introduce a healthy balance. Mine are allowed to play as long as they spend just as much time doing other things (sports, bikes, playing with friends, reading etc).

  • I only have one addicted and every few days we just have a no video game night...and then he drives me crazy all night as punishment, i dont know if I would have the strength or patience to do it with six.

  • If you do not want your children playing video games. The simplest solution is: do not own a gaming system and do not own video games... if they do not have the means to play them or have any to begin with, then they will not be playing.

Now.. If you would just like them to play LESS. Designate times they can play. Designate how long they can play.. And stick to it. Put the system and games away after their gaming time is finished for the day if need be. You are the parent, you set the guidelines, you also must make sure those guidelines are followed and intervene if they are not (in whatever way you as the parent choose to).

  • If you don't want your kids to play video games, don't allow them in your home (now, if you don't have any in your home, you can't control whether or not they play them at friends' houses). Simple as that.

  • Unplug the game systems and sell them. Simple as that.

  • I know your pain!!! I have four kiddos, 2 boys & 2 girls that LOVE video games. My husband is a major gamer as well, so that doesn't help. I had to make some house rules about it to control the chaos. There is nothing on until all homework and responsibilities are done. Each of them have their own responsibility chart they have to complete each day. I also put a time limit on it and I don't care if they are to the next level, almost there, or not at a place where they can save, that puppy's going off!! It's the only way I was able to reclaim my sanity.
