Is it normal for teens to take naps that are 4-6 hours

  • oh yes!!! it's also normal for them to go to bed at a normal time and sleep til 3 in the afternoon

  • why are you saying thats not normal. i'm 22. it wasn't that long ago that i was a teen. i took those long naps, still got a full nights sleep, slept til 3 in the afternoon. so did almost everyone else in my highschool

  • Teens do sleep a lot. But I would talk to the teen to make sure nothing is bothering him/her. It could be a sign of depression.

  • Okay....It's not normal with my teens. They sleep a good 8 or more hours every night and don't nap at all during the day. But we do not allow our teens to set their own bedtimes. As their parents, my husband and I know that teenagers need sleep and reinforce that with regular bedtimes and set sleep patterns.
