  • Alone? my 6 year old *can* but he has delays. My 3 year old can do it with direction. She does all the work but she still needs guidance with 'what's next' Like 'Alright, pick up all your ponies and put them on the self... Now where do we put our books?... Find a good place to keep all your silly bands so they don't get lost...'

  • Start'em young. It's very difficult to be the one always cleaning the room and then turn around when your kid is 10 and tell him/her that it's their job to clean up their room.

  • My girl has been doing it since she was about 6. My son is 11 and he still doesn't do it very often.

  • 2 with help, 3 with minimal help, 4 without any help.
(not that they do it half the time but they each knew how at 3 and I expected them to do it on their own at 4.)
