At what age is it good to give a baby acidic drinks, like orange juice and lemonade?

My baby is a year old and Im hesitant to give her such acidic drinks like that.

  • I let dd take a sip of mine around 24 months, but even at that age I think that giving a full sippy cup of one might be a little too much for her. I don't know though, some kids might be different.

  • It is fine to give a baby who has had her first birthday citrus, but I would hold off on juices until age three; and then, only as an occasional treat. From a nutritional standpoint, juice is fairly worthless, unless you are pureeing the entire fruit.
