  • with my first i felt contraction just before 8 pm. i speifically remember going OoO i think i just had a contraction it kinda hurt and seemed to be like 20 secs. sure enought not even a hour later they were starting i went to the hospital at 2am becuase i kept throwing up and didnt want to be dehydrated i started pushing at 6am and she was fnaly born 7:40am. so all in total it was about 12 hours but i would say only 5 was hard labor and 2 of that was pushing . everyones differnt but i think thats pretty average for first time. Now my second i was in labor for a total of 3 hours and i only pushed 2 times..

  • hmm labor to me means active being past 5cm all the way to baby being born so for me that was 16 hours. but i didnt know i was in active labor til after i went to my regular doc appt that day and he told me i was 5 cm. i still went home after that by my choice and didnt go back to the hospital til about 11 at nite. so you could take off 7 hours of that since i really wasnt in any pain until 11 that nite.

  • My water broke a little after 9pm, we got to the hospital around midnight, they had to use the "gel" to soften my cervix ( I was not dilated at all) and my contractions started around son was born at 6:45 am. Just the contraction part was 3 3/4 hours.
