  • I agree, every child is different, it will happen! Don't let others tell you when theyr'e supposed to be doing something.

  • Not at all. Ignore your aunt. Kids usually roll over at 3+ months, but it isn't set in stone. And sitting up??? What kind of bionic children was she around? LOL (just kidding) Kids who sit up at 6 months are often called "early"!

  • He could roll over soon. But he's not late. Sitting up comes at 6 or 7 months.

  • Your aunt doesn't know what she's talking about. My son didn't roll over until he was something like 7 months and he didn't sit himself up until he was like 9 months! (He started crawling about the same time). He was trying to take steps at 8 1/2 months, though.

  • my daughter is 5 months old and can sit up IF I PUT HER IN THAT POSTION she can't sit up from laying down I don't know any baby that can do that until around 7 months or so... she rolled over early at 2 months but there are tons of babies that dont roll over till 4 months or so..... they are all different as long as he is happy and healthy he will get it :)

  • My first didn't roll over for the first time until 5 months, didn't get to a sitting position on his own until 10 months. He's 3.5 now and FINE, completely normal. Every baby is different, and this isn't usually something the pedi even asks about until the 6 month visit, at which point it's still ok if baby isn't doing either of those things. Your aunt must have a VERY limited experience with babies to think that they all roll over and sit up by 4 months old.
