  • Hot oil treatments, leave in conditioners and weekly deep conditionings.

I personally use V05 hot oil, Aussie 3 minute repair deep conditioner, and Infusium 23 leave in.

Also, lay off of the hair dryer, hot tools, hair spray, etc. Use the bare minimum.

Remember to get trims every 6-8 weeks, and don't brush your hair when it's wet. Only comb it.

  • Don't wash your hair everyday.
KPAK Reconstructor from Joico is awesome but pricey.
Give your hair a break from heat & colour.
Put a serum on your hair when wet.
Try hot olive oil treatments at home.

  • I got like that a couple of years ago --- just out of the blue I looked up and had horrible hair --- So I've been on a mission to make sure that never happens again....... Here's what I did: Stop using shampoo that lathers and yes - start using a leave in conditioner. Deep condition your hair at least once a week --- and only wash your hair every 3/4 days (with a no-lather shampoo). Your hair can start looking better IMMEDIATELY but you're gonna have to compromise with yourself a lil bit --- lay off the hair products (mousse, gels, hairspray, etc) and stick only to treatments that feed it. Go as natural as you can stomach.
My first product was Aveda - worked wonderfully - for a while - but the dryness kept trying to come back --- so now I ONLY use it when I REALLY have to get a quick shampoo - 98% of the time I use Hair One from Sally's Beauty Supply and Follow it with Aveda Light Elements.

  • O
P.S. I haven't had a single split end or nasty spiders nest of dry-can't-pull-your-fingers-through-it hair in over a year. Since I quit lathering and stopped washing my hair every other day - it has improved 1000 fold!
