Goldfish care

How often should I change the water in my goldfish bowl? There's no filter or anything, it's just one of those starndard glass bowls with 4 small goldfish.

  • The size of the bowl and the number of fish you have really determine this answer.

The more fish, the more you will need to change.

With 4 fish I would think every other day.

We have always had an aquarium, I love fish :) Just a tip, put a half teaspoon of NON IODIZED salt in the helps them stay healthy....dont forget to declhorinate the water too :)

  • I've been using the distilled water. Would SeaSalt work?

  • No I dont think sea salt works.....I buy just the regular box salt at the store....but it just says non iodized on the front.

  • I would say when it starts to look cloudy. We had goldfish years ago. I had 3 of them in a 10 gallon tank with a filter. I think the rule is: 1 gallon of water for every inch of fish.
