How can I get my baby to open his mouth the widest during breastfeeding?

  • www.kellymom.com has great tips for nursing mothers. I was always told to aim the nipple towards the nose and tickle the top lip. I also squeeze down a bit on my aereola to make sure my baby could get as much as possible.

  • brush the side of his mouth with your nipple, or rub his sheek with your finger.

  • I always held my breast in the c cup and then held it in front of her mouth until I saw it open wide enough or you can tickle her lip with your nipple and that usually gets it open.
