The tile counter under my slow cooker was really hot last night... Is that normal?

I have the Rival slow cooker and had never noticed how hot the counter gets under the slow cooker. Wondering if there's something wrong with mine.

  • Mine does too. I have a silicone baking sheet I set mine on to protect the counter top. Don't ever use a pot holder. We had a neighbor set her kitchen on fire using a potholder under her crock pot.

  • Mine does the same thing, I have a Rival as well. The heating element is at the bottom, I'm guessing that's why it heats up.

  • Same here.. I put my crock pot on my stove or on my wooden cutting board to protect my counter.
