  • If I knew they'd stolen something, I would expect them to lie about it. Thieves are rarely honest. D'uh.

    I would make it clear that it was their one shot, and I hoped they'd taken everything they ever wanted, 'cause the trust door is now closed. One tiny rap on it, and it's locked forever. Not a quarter, not a button, not a piece of paper taken without permission again... no exceptions.

    Utter forgiveness followed by permanent, endless supervision or no access at all to anything of mine, ever again.

  • depends, what's the situation?
    are you sure they stole from you? a few years back i heard that my SIL suspected that we took some cash they had lying out that disappeared.
    turned out my niece flushed it down the toilet! when she told me about how she went and got paper and flushed it, I assumed she meant computer paper!

  • depends who they are and what was stolen. but I know they would not be able to get anything from me again. If it's a really bad situation then they would be out.
