"pimples" on my 2 yo's bottom?

i just changed my sons diaper and i noticed what looked like tiny pimples on his bottom? he doesnt seem to be in any pain. just wondering if anyone has seen anything like this before i call the pedi because i go to an HMO and the on call nurses tend to be jerks. i googled it and i got a million answers but im wondering if any "real" people have seen this

  • It's the beginnings of diaper rash. Put some Desitin on his bottom and change his diapers more frequently. If you're working on potty training then let him go without a diaper for a while to help "air out" his tush!

He could also have acidic urine based on what he drinks--which may be contributing to more of a reaction. If he drinks a lot of apple juice--substitute it for white grape juice--and halve it with water--to cut down on the sugars and acidity.

  • Both my babies have had this before. It's usually always diaper rash. A little A and D and it should clear up. Also baby acne is common as well and we all know acne happens everywhere. Good luck :)
