why are u supp to keep prayin to god for the dead

if they are already dead y do u have to or keep praying for them...

  • We pray for the dead because once they are dead they can't pray for themselves. Once someone is decended into purgatory they can be there for years during this "cleansing state" before going to heaven.

  • Praying will change nothing for the dead. They are dead. They can't be saved AFTER they have died.

  • the christians,baptist..penecostal churches i have been goin to recently have all made the same statement..that we must continue 2 pray 4 the dead...

  • um..i don't know what baptist church (WB maybe?? lol) you heard this in, but i can assure you, baptists do not pray for dead people. once you are dead, your game is up. you've folded. elvis has left the building. the fat lady has sung.
