My 18 month old son is waking up 3-4 times a night. He used to sleep through the night, but started waking up a few months ago. I wait to see if he will calm himself down, and when he doesn't I go in, give him his pacifier and he's fine. He doesn't need a pacifier during the day, but maybe it's causing him to wake up when it falls out a night. Any thoughts?

  • Cut out the pacifier now. The longer you wait, the harder it is for a kid to adjust. I know when he wakes, you want him back asleep, but give it a few nights and that problem will go away.
