Saw the movie, "Black Swan"

for anyone else who's seen the movie (and understand schizophrenia), how real were the symptoms portrayed in the movie? For example, do people really see themselves peel skin off their fingers? I thought invisible voices are heard, but Natalie Portman's character didn't seem to hear voices, but to see dillusions. What is the reality of schizophrenia?

  • It depends on the person. Each case is different, but yes, schizophrenia can cause your mind to think you see things that are not there.
