When did you start giving a sippy cup?

Did you start juice then also? or put formula/breastmilk in?

  • 6 months for both a sippy cup and bottle. 12 -13 months transitioned to sippy only.

  • Jodi205 is right. When the baby can hold a bottle alone, I would start trying it.

  • I think it was about 6 months old. I just put water in it and she didn't really take to it at all for a few months more.

  • around 7 months and I put formula or juice in it.

  • DO NOT PUT JUICE IN A BOTTLE! if you put juice in a cup and only a cup, it will be easier to transition from the bottle later. start juice in the cup as soon as he / she can hold it.

  • i started giving my son a sippy cup at 6 months when he started getting juice. it is easier to wean them off of the bottle if they only get formula in a bottle and not everything else. my son is almost a yr and he's almost off the bottle already. i attribute that to him getting all juice and water in a sippy cup.
