Have you used the South Beach diet?

The beginning looks tough but does it get easier and were you successful and did the weight stay off? I need something that is a life style change.

  • Nope...quick "fixes" never work.

  • I did lo-carb before South Beach came into existence; some of the same principles involved and yes, it did work ... it worked wonders, actually. Neither are quick fixes as the PP states; these are healthy, lifestyle changes.

  • I don't do "diets" but South Beach does have various phases including a phase for your entire lifetime. So it can be a healthy way to eat if you stick with that phase. I think the phase 1 can be too harsh though. While I don't follow the diet myself I have copied and tried recipes from several of their cookbooks. As a diabetic I love some of the lower carb recipes. The Jicama "hash browns" are a yummy lower carb alternative!
