  • My OB said that he delivers more children around the full moon than any other time of the month.

  • I found an online source for full moons and checked it against the birth dates of all my family members. None of them were closer than a week from the full moon, across 4 generations (from the 1920s through 2008).

  • Yes. I believe the moon does affect nature and could be responsible for a greater number of deliveries.

  • I went into labor the night of a full moon and had my son early the next morning. Coincidence maybe.

  • I grew up on my family farm and I must say that we always watched the moon as a way of knowing when the calves would be born. It always worked!

  • I think it's possible. Anecdotally it certainly seems plausible.

  • What's the theory?

Answer by CraftingMama at 11:19 AM on Jan. 19, 2011

  • I've never head the theory. Elaborate.
