I really don't know what else to tell her

A friend of mine has been complaining of an itchy crotch. She wipes properly and cleans properly every time. She says that at least once a month (not during her period), it gets really itchy down there. She wipes until it's clean and picks up the pieces of toilet paper with baby wipes. She wanted to me to come here and ask all of you all if you had any idea.  What could be causing this seemingly constant itchy crotch?

  • When it gets itchy does it also burn at all when she pees? Does she notice an increased amount of discharge during this?

  • Could just be a mild form of a yeast infection that clears on its own. I've know several friends that have had this problem, same time every month.

  • Could be a STD or yeast infection.

  • Hormones can cause yeast infections.  Thats what it sounds like.  So, before your period starts and your hormones are active and it causes yeast infections.  Um, wiping doesn't get rid of the yeast infection, lol.  Get some cream or whatever she prefers and check with a Dr.

  • Well, a nice idea would be if she made a doctor's appointment and let the gyno see what's wrong with her accurately and not by speculating like we will.

  • She could try using a feminine cleanser. Her area there might be very sensitive and the cleanser is ph balanced just for cleansing their. I also use feminine wipes not just baby wipes. Also have her try ironing the crotch of her underwear. Hot water in the washing machine isn't hot enough to kill everything that needs to be killed.

  • Possibly a irritant- some sort of cleaner or detergent. Or a yeast infection.

  • there's a test kit you can buy online or in drug store (near condoms, preg tests, etc) to check your PH "down there" and see if there's anything funky going on. Suggest that if she wont goto clinic
