Tonight is a full moon!! Do you think it causes more labors to start? :)

Just wondering if anyone believes this or thinks its an old wives tale?

  • absolutely not hahaha however biologically more babies are born in the middle of the night because our biological clocks know thats the time we are in a restful state, perfect time to have a baby

  • I had heard that and thought it was silly and then I went into labor with my 2nd child! We got to the hospital at 1am and the receptionist had this odd look on her face. She said,"You're the 3rd laboring woman to arrive here in the last hour." Now mind you this was a very small hospital, more like a birthing center. They get maybe 2 births there a day lol. I found out later that day that it was a full moon. Makes me wonder if my first child would have been born on a full moon but I'll never know because I was induced.

  • I think it is sooooo funny....every labor and delivery nurse I know says a huge YES....then people I talk to who know L&D nurses say YES....then all the Dr's say NO....lol.....

I tend to lean towards believing the nurses! We ALL know they do most of the work anyways....lol :)
