  • "allspice' is the dried berry from a pimento tree. You can substitute FOR allspice with 1/4 tsp nutmeg 1/2 tsp cinnamon and 1/4 tsp ground cloves.

  • :) if you have a "Better Homes and Gardens" cookbook, it has a section in the beginning that goes over different herbs and spices. I love it because it gives descriptions about different flavors and what kinds of food it goes well with.. I've expanded my seasonings horizon :)
