Baby's eye color won't settle ...

So, all of my previous children have had dark (brown) eyes and there was never a question about their color, but 8 month old Little Bear's eyes change on an almost daily basis! (From green to bright blue, to greenish blue, to gray, to an almost BRONZE color that I LOVED!!, etc ... )

I'm wondering when they are going to settle into their permanent color? My eyes are bluish green and his dad's are brown.

Anyone have any ideas?

  • They will eventaully. Some kids eye colors change all the way to the 5th yr. Most will settle by the third birthday though.

  • Sounds like hazel to me. Green, brown and bronze are a sure sign

  • Sounds like your little boys eyes might be hazel. My daughters started out blue, then formed a gold ring in the middle. Now her eyes have been this color since. They're hazel. Green, golds, browns. Absolutely beautiful! Up until about 8-9 months they were the blue-gold color, then they changed. Been the same color since. She's 19 months old. =)

  • Sorry, the 2nd picture isn't too great. Was better when it was larger.

  • They will settle eventually. I have heard that it is not abnormal to not have the permenent eye color show up to 2 years or later

  • My daughter's eyes changed color back and forth until she was about 2 and then they were brown. She's 3 now and they are getting darker.
