Do you have any healthy quick snack ideas for kids?

  • You could make a trail mix and store it in small baggies or make a granola mix and do the same. Those bags of baby carrots could make a fast, healthy snack as well and you could get those single servings of ranch dressing to dip them in. Celery with p-nut butter. Raisins.

  • DS loves berries, crackers and hummus, peanut butter on whole wheat, bananas, bananas with peanut butter (messy, so be sure to have her sit for that one!), leftover chicken if we have it, yogurt (not Yoplait or any others that are flavored- they have tons of sugar, so get plain, Greek even better, and ass berries and maybe granola)

  • gold fish crackers are ok, they are baked. My daughter loves them.
    She also likes peanut butter sandwiches. I take 1/2 a sandwich and cut it into bite size pieces and she loves it.

    Yogurt is also good. she loves yogurt.

    We had gotten into scooby snacks for a while, which are just bone shaped graham crackers.

  • My kids love to take a whole wheat tortilla and spread peanut butter on it. Then they lay a banana or apple slices on that with a small drizzle of honey. They roll it up and off they go. Sometimes they will sprinkle some raisins on it too. I have also seen them use cream cheese and a sprinkle of cinnamon. There are endless possibilities!

  • When we get low on cereal, I take what's left and make a "trail mix" - cheerios, kix, bite size shredded wheat, raisins, etc. Pretty much whatever I have. Sometimes for an extra treat I'll throw in a few m&ms (but my 2 year old is learning to pick those out! so that will have to stop)

  • My LO loves almonds. Be sure they are old enough to chew thoroughly. Yogurt and cheese pieces (sharp cheddar is her favorite). Sliced turkey. clementine oranges.

  • I make fruit smoothies with frozen berries, OJ, vanilla and some yogurt. My DD also loves yogurt with Costco's Ancient Grains.
