  • I have 3 children ... 15, 11 and 5.

I think a 3 year gap is great... I think you get to enjoy each child, give them personal attention and they will be able to bond with each other and understand each other... this is not just when they are little for playmates, but as they get older in teen years as well ... not to mention, you could still have a life when your last child gets older! : ) ...
3 year difference is perfect... I see that now ....... (tween/teen years get you!!)

  • My kids are 20 months apart. I don't think there is an ideal age spread. What works for one family wouldn't work for another.

  • My boys are 18 months apart. I have no idea what would be ideal. I think it depends on the family.

  • 2 yrs 4 months, 18 months, 8 years, 20 months. I think the "ideal" gap for me would be 18-24 months, but it totally depends on the family's situation. Having some close together and then some far apart, I can see pros and cons to both.

  • 3 years. We wanted the older child to have his time being the baby in the family. Also 3 years made it easier as far as paying for college. Yet they were close enough together to play together.

  • Between my first and second child, there's a 6 year gap, and between my second and will be third, there's a 2 year gap.

  • My two oldest are 22 months apart, then a 15 year gap to the twins. The ideal gap would depend on the family.
