Has anyone ever heard of identical twin down syndrome babies?

My sister and I were discussing it and we were just curious.

  • I've never heard of that either. I do know a lady who has a set of twins and one has Down's Syndrome, I don't recall if they are identical or not.

  • you would think identical babies come from the same egg so shouldnt they both have down syndrome I have heard of faternal twins and only one of them having it.

  • it does happen. Here is the story of a woman that has identical twin boys and both have down syndrome. http://www.down-syndrome.org/essays/206/..if you search I believe at the same website there is an article about how often this happens.
