Movies.... Do u think a 5 year old should be able to watch the Jaws movies?

  • No but dh let dd watch it when she was three! I wanted to kill him! Age restrictions are for a reason. And at 4 or even 10 they should be watching movies that dont meet the restrictions.

  • my son loves that movie.. hes not scared and he thinks its really cool.. he also loves free willy.. he just loves ocean animals i think thats y he loves it so much

  • Definitely not.

    If we must expose children to media, it should be intended for young audiences, of course.
    You can-will parent however you want, but there is a reason that this is inappropriate.

    But, overall, limited or eliminating screen time is ideal.

  • My DH let my kids watch Jaws when it was on TV over the holidays, and then I had to deal with a 6 year old who wouldn't even get in the bath let alone the ocean! So no, I'd say not.
