Video Games: How Long?

How long do you let your kids play video games? My son has to do a chore for one hour of video game time. It gets him helping around the house, and it makes him take a break and spend time away from the games...

  • My son is allowed to play his video games for 2 hours a day. When it is a school day, he does not always get that long because he has to complete his homework, eat and clean up his toys first.

  • Thank you thank you for being a responsible parent and allowing your child to learn that work has rewards. You seem to have it figured out. I wish my husband held the same standards for my stepchildren.

  • My kids can play as long as they want... I don't limit them. I never found a reason to.

  • I think it depends on the kid and the type of games they are playing. My kid gets obsessed with his games so his time is very limited. If the kid can handle playing their games and being responsible in the other aspects of their life I think they should be allowed more time.

  • They can earn 15 minute blocks during the week by doing chores. On the weekend they can play till they pass out.
